The Torah Scroll dedication in memory of Netanel Goodman took place on January 31st, 2003, commemorating the first anniversary of Tani’s death. This Torah Scroll was a project of the Hartman High School Parents Committee and Friends of the Hartman Institute of Jerusalem. The dedication of a Torah Scroll is a unique event. The final letters of this scroll were written by Tani’s many friends and family at the Goodman home. Then, carried under the canopy of a talit from the Goodman home down Emek Refaim Street, the Torah Scroll was placed in the Holy Ark of the Beit Midrash of Hartman School. Accompanied by musical instruments and police escort, hundreds of Hartman students, Tani’s friends and family were joined by neighborhood residents in this inspiring and touching dedication. Rabbi Professor David Hartman, Micah Goodman and Maggie Goodman spoke words of thanksgiving.
Design and production by Carine Kleiman.
