The head of the Hartman Institute, Rabbi Professor David Hartman established the Tani Awards– a fund to award three prizes for excellence in Jewish Studies, Sports and Community Service– fields in which Tani excelled. This fund was established at the “Shloshim” (30 days) commemoration of Tani. Since 2002, this fund has made possible the Hartman School’s annual trips to the destroyed Jewish communities of Poland for all pupils who otherwise may not have made this trip.
